AFTA Board Nominations 2024
Do you have an interest in protecting the future of recreational fishing? Do you wish to work with other like-minded individuals for the greater good of the entire industry?
Nominations from AFTA Members are now open for the AFTA Board. If there are more nominations than positions available then a vote will be held at the AGM on the Gold Coast. (AGM August 15, 2024, at 4pm)
The structure of AFTA is an elected Management Committee (Board) as per the AFTA Constitution (Part 3, Clause 14)
The total number of Committee Members (Directors) is to be no more than 9 and no less than 3 and must be made up of:
(a) no more than 5 and no less than 3 Wholesale Members;
(b) no more than 3 and no less than 1 Retail Member; and
(c) no more than 1 Media Member
Committee Members (Directors) are elected at the AGM for a term of 3 years with no restriction on how many consecutive terms can be served.
There are two positions open for nomination in 2024; 1 x MEDIA and 1 x RETAIL. Should you wish to nominate yourself for a position on the Board, please return the form ASAP.
AFTA Members considering nomination should familiarise themselves with the AFTA Constitution, which can be found in Member Resources on the AFTA website. Members should also ensure they are available to travel for a minimum of two in-person meetings per year (October and March) and E-meetings throughout the year.
If you have any queries, you are welcome to contact any AFTA Board Member, including our Independent Chairman, The Hon Bob Baldwin.
Nominations must be received no later than 5.00pm AEST on Tuesday, 6th August 2024.
