AFTA TACKLE SHOW

TRADE / MEMBER DAYS CONDITIONS OF ENTRY & CODE OF CONDUCT

These Conditions of Entry and Code of Conduct apply to all exhibitors, retail buyers, wholesale members, authorised media representatives, invited guests and other approved attendees of the AFTA Tackle Show Trade Days. They should be read together with any applicable Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre conditions of entry, venue policies, signage and lawful and reasonable directions issued by AFTA, venue staff, security or authorised event personnel.

The AFTA Tackle Show Trade Days are open only to current AFTA members, approved exhibitors, registered retail buyers, wholesale members, authorised media representatives and invited guests approved by AFTA. All attendees must be registered, must wear their official event badge while inside the event and must not transfer or share badges with another person.

Attendees must register under the badge category that accurately reflects their role and purpose for attending the Trade Days. Badge categories include Buyer, Buyer (International), Exhibitor, Exhibitor (International), Brand Ambassador, Non-Exhibiting Wholesaler, Media and Government, as applicable. Each attendee must comply with the eligibility requirements, restrictions and conditions attached to their badge category.

AFTA may request evidence to confirm that an attendee has registered under the correct badge category, including evidence of AFTA membership, exhibitor status, business activity, invitation from an AFTA member or exhibitor, media purpose, government capacity or other relevant eligibility requirements. AFTA reserves the right to refuse entry, cancel a Trade Days registration, confiscate a badge or remove an attendee from the venue if the relevant badge category requirements, entry conditions or event terms are not met.

Non-Exhibiting Wholesaler badges are limited to eligible wholesale AFTA members attending to assess whether they may wish to exhibit in the future. This badge does not permit wholesaling, selling, taking orders, soliciting business or otherwise conducting business at the Show. Buyer and Buyer (International) badges are for approved retail or industry buyers attending in a buying capacity. Media badges are for approved media representatives attending for the purpose of promoting the Australian recreational fishing industry to their readers, audiences or followers, subject to exhibitor consent, commercial confidentiality and the business-first purpose of the Trade Days.

You must comply with all lawful and reasonable directions given by AFTA, venue staff, security and authorised event personnel, including directions relating to safety, security arrangements, crowd management, exhibitor access, move-in and move-out requirements, venue operations and event participation.

Entry may be conditional on security screening, including checks of bags, clothing, equipment, product samples or other personal items for prohibited or unauthorised items. A person who refuses to comply with lawful and reasonable security screening requirements may be refused entry or removed from the event. Prohibited items may include knives, glass, items prohibited by law, alcohol, animals other than assistance animals, unauthorised vehicles or transport equipment, items that may reasonably be considered dangerous, offensive, disruptive or likely to cause nuisance, and items removed from exhibitor stands without consent. This does not apply to mobility aids, wheelchairs, mobility scooters or other accessibility devices required by an attendee because of disability or medical need.

AFTA is committed to providing a safe, inclusive and respectful trade environment. Discrimination, vilification, harassment, intimidation, threatening conduct, abusive language, violence, anti-social behaviour, unreasonable behaviour, disruptive conduct or conduct that interferes with the operation of the show will not be tolerated.

Exhibitors, staff, contractors, brand ambassadors, retail buyers, wholesale members, authorised media representatives and invited guests must act professionally and in a manner that supports the purpose of the AFTA Tackle Show as a trade event for the Australian recreational fishing industry.

Exhibitors must operate only from their allocated stand and must not place promotional materials, displays, products, signage or activations outside their stand unless authorised by AFTA or included in an approved AFTA Tackle Show sponsorship arrangement.

Orders may only be taken within exhibitor stands. Retail sales are not permitted during the Trade Days unless expressly authorised by AFTA in writing.

Unless authorised by AFTA in writing, attendees must not solicit business in aisles, public spaces or another exhibitor’s stand, conduct unauthorised commercial, political, promotional, surveying, demonstration or performance activity, collect contributions, distribute materials, or use another exhibitor’s product, product concepts, intellectual property or display content without consent.

Photography, filming and recording on the show floor are not permitted unless undertaken with the prior consent of the relevant exhibitor within that exhibitor’s stand. Media representatives must ask exhibitors for permission before photographing, filming, recording, livestreaming or capturing any product, display, stand activity, staff member, buyer interaction or other exhibitor content. Exhibitors may decline, limit or delay photography or filming for any reason, including commercial confidentiality, product launch timing, embargoes, buyer meetings or other business requirements.

Authorised media representatives may attend for the purpose of promoting the Australian recreational fishing industry to their readers, audiences or followers, but must comply with AFTA directions, exhibitor consent requirements and any conditions attached to their media approval. Trade Days are primarily business days for exhibitors and buyers. Exhibitor time, stand access and product discussions must prioritise buyer engagement, order writing and commercial conversations. Media activity must not interrupt, delay or take priority over exhibitor meetings with buyers or other business activity.

You consent to being photographed, filmed and recorded as an attendee of the AFTA Tackle Show. Unless otherwise agreed with AFTA, you consent to AFTA and authorised third parties using images and recordings of you for broadcast, publication, licensing, event reporting and promotion of AFTA, the AFTA Tackle Show and the Australian recreational fishing industry without compensation or acknowledgement.

Children under 15 years of age are not permitted on the show floor during set-up or dismantling. Proof of age may be required. Any child permitted to attend the event during approved show hours must be supervised by a responsible adult at all times, and the adult is responsible for the child’s care and conduct.

AFTA will not allow animals into the buildings, except for assistance animals. This is in line with Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre policy.

Smoking and vaping are not permitted inside the venue except in designated smoking areas, if available.

Theft will not be tolerated at the AFTA Tackle Show. If you are suspected of stealing from an exhibitor, attendee, contractor or any private or public area of the show, or of taking items that are not expressly indicated to be free, AFTA may take appropriate action depending on the circumstances, including refusing entry, removing or expelling you from the event, requiring items to be returned, surrendered, removed, stored, disposed of or dealt with in accordance with venue policy, security requirements or law, referring the matter to police and/or banning you from future events where lawful and appropriate.

AFTA does not tolerate unlawful conduct or conduct that may endanger the safety of attendees, exhibitors, staff, contractors, volunteers, security personnel, presenters or any other person at the event. Any person suspected of engaging in unlawful conduct, unsafe conduct or conduct that breaches these Conditions of Entry and Code of Conduct may, depending on the circumstances and where lawful and appropriate, be refused entry, removed or expelled from the event, referred to police and/or banned from future events.

AFTA’s decision regarding entry, removal, exhibitor conduct, media access, badge eligibility and event participation is final, subject to applicable law.

Nothing in these conditions limits rights or obligations under law.
