More than $380,000 invested back into recreational fishing across NSW!

The latest round of the NSW Government’s Recreational Fishing Trust grants has delivered $386,872 to projects that improve fishing access, facilities and education opportunities for recreational fishers.

Funded projects include:

  • A new accessible fishing platform at Red Rock Reserve near Wooli.
  • Upgrades to fishing platforms at Como and Forster.
  • New and improved fish cleaning facilities in western NSW.
  • Boat ramp resurfacing projects on the South Coast.
  • Community education programs encouraging more people to get involved in fishing.

These projects are helping create better fishing experiences for communities right across NSW while supporting the long-term sustainability of recreational fishing.

Best of all, funding comes directly from recreational fishing licence fees, ensuring fishers’ contributions are reinvested into projects that make a real difference on the water.

Do you have a project that could benefit your local fishing community? Applications for the 2026 grants round are now open.
