In response to Golden Snapper sustainability concerns, NT Fisheries will be convening a Recreational Fishing Sector Working Group to provide advice on approaches to drafting a recovery plan for the greater Darwin region. The advice of sector-based working groups will inform recovery plan drafting, which will then be tested with a cross-sector advisory group, followed by public consultation. AFANT is seeking expressions of interest (EOI) to fill 8 positions on the working group, which is expected to convene in August. We are looking for nominations from recreational fishers who:

Have a keen interest and experience fishing for Golden Snapper

Have connections to other members of the fishing community (e.g. fishing clubs, work, groups of friends)

Are ready and able to attend 2-3 evening meetings and engage constructively with fishery scientists, fishery managers and other working group members
