National Recreational Fishing Survey
AFTA Supports the Rec Fishing Survey
From 2019 to 2021, the Valuing recreational fishing project will be asking Australians to take part in surveys that measure the social and economic values of recreational fishing and other outdoor activities. These surveys will help us answer questions including:
- Does recreational fishing have a positive impact on the health and wellbeing of fishers?
- How do the benefits of recreational fishing compare to other outdoor activities?
- What is the economic value of recreational fishing to the Australian economy, and the economy of different States and Territories?
- What barriers sometimes prevent people experiencing benefits from fishing?
Taking this survey will show the Australian Government both the benefit and how much the Recreational Fishing industry is worth and in turn show the true strength of our industry.
Governments make resource and financial decisions based on these surveys so please take time and fill it out now for the future of fishing!
Win a $600 prize pack weekly until May 22nd – all you have to do is help recreational fishing and take the survey, no location information is collected, it is more about how often and health benefit then where you go fishing, so there is no excuse not to fill it out!
