As an Independent Candidate and the only Independent MP in QLD during the past term, it is extremely difficult to answer questions directed towards party policies and requesting party support or funding.
As an Independent MP I research every Bill brought before Parliament, consult with stakeholders and my community and vote according to their voice.
Noosa is supportive of sustainable fishing and welcomes further consultation and legislation on this being introduced to Parliament.
To this end I would encourage and welcome an advisory group on fisheries reform as suggested.
As a representative of a community who loves their waterways and recreational fishing activities, I commend the efforts of organisations such as the Australian Fishing Trade Association and look forward to working towards shared goals for another term.
