As part of the ongoing SA Algae bloom, RecFish SA are pushing ahead representing the recreational fishing sector from every direction and ensuring the tackle store networks are part of this involvement.
This is a very fast moving issue, and negotiations are imperative to getting a result for you with clear data returned ASAP. RecFish SA’s actions are supported by AFTA to support you as we work with them for your industry.
We have heard losses of approximately 30% sales, 70%+ in bait sales, and this needs to be quantified (confidentially) for best movement forwards.
RecFish SA pride ourselves in addressing every issue and not letting much get through the keeper. Our partnership with SA tackle stores is a first in Australia, and we value your feedback and communication. When opportunities arise, RecFish SA are straight into engagement to ensure the tackle industry is never forgotten or left out- recent Snapper, whiting and squid issues inclusive. We are also first to advise stores of potential changes as soon as possible, to ensure you are able to pivot business plans ahead of time and announcements. Thats why you’re part of RecFish SA and our tackle store network- because there is power in partnership.
State government is committed to sitting with RecFish SA and AFTA and working through this across community and state- and we encourage your participation.
Please chat to Asher, RecFishSA EO, if you would like to discuss today on 0400774447.
Otherwise, a link to a confidential SurveyMonkey survey is below, if you can please fill it in by the end of the day. It will take approx. 5 minutes.
Thank you, and as always, please don’t hesitate to reach out while we work as hard as we can for our community.
