The Hon. Bob Hawke AC GLC
On behalf of the Australia Fishing Trade Association we express our deepest sympathy and extend our condolences to Blanche, his family and friends on the passing of Bob Hawke, our former Prime Minister, Fisherman and national icon.
Like all things that Bob Hawke did, it was with done with absolute passion, determination and enjoyment for both himself and those around him.
Whilst he will be remembered for many of his great achievements for our Nation, we will remember him in particular for his advocacy and support of our industry.
We proudly reflect on him standing on the Cairns Game Fishing Club Wharf with his 343Lb (155.6kg) Black Marlin, captured whilst fishing on Guilder III in 1973
