Nominations for QLD Fisheries Working Groups and an updated Working Groups Guideline
Fisheries Queensland have a number of Working Groups in place to provide operational advice on the sustainable management of our fisheries. Membership is on a voluntary basis for up to two years and is reviewed every two years to allow for rotation of different representatives and development of new leaders across all our stakeholder groups with an interest in the management of Queensland’s fisheries.Fisheries Queensland is currently seeking a range of stakeholders to join 14 fishery working groups, including commercial and recreational fishers, charter operators, seafood marketers and processes, conservation representatives and First Nations peoples.If you are interested in being involved in providing your expertise and knowledge to the management of Queensland’s fisheries, please put in an expression of interest. These guidelines outline the process for the assessment, selection and appointment of members to fisheries working groups.Nominations and comments are open until Sunday 21 May.Please note that if you are currently on a Working Group, this does not change until this process is finalised.
